In the Lab. In the Field. Innovation.

We Test It First, so that Restorations Last

In the Lab.

Cathedral Stone’s one-of-a-kind testing laboratory is the catalyst behind our ability to lead the masonry restoration industry into the future. Through our laboratory testing, we follow a proprietary process to determine the substrate’s specific restoration material requirement, which is based on a number of factors, including the substrate’s physical properties and elemental exposure. Through testing, our products prevent masonry failures and accelerated deterioration of the original substrate. This means that Cathedral Stone’s customers receive the very best masonry restoration solution that will stand the test of time and the elements.

In the Field.

The masonry, not the mortar, is tested to identify its physical properties. We then use this data to determine if a restoration project will require a custom formulation, or if a standard formulation will do. The Cathedral Stone testing process ensures that the mortars we specify will be compatible with the materials our products are matched to. Our testing process also includes bending tensile, expansion/contraction, permeability, e-modulus, and compression testing.

Innovation.

Cathedral Stone’s laboratory and testing process make certain that we take every measurable step possible – prior to physical restoration or repair – that will ensure the prevention of masonry failures and accelerated deterioration of the building’s original masonry. The result is a long term repair that is scientifically proven to last. This saves Cathedral Stone’s customers time and money by alleviating the need for the job to be redone do to incompatible products being specified and used on a job.

Backed by its one-of-a-kind testing laboratory, comprehensive training program, and proven-in-the-field masonry restoration products, Cathedral Stone is the company that helps restoration professionals make repairs right the first time.
